This was a joint field trip with the Olympia Photographers Meetup Group and the Olympia Camera Club.  The Satsop Development Park is located at the mothballed Satsop Nuclear Plant that was part of the failed WPPSS project in the 80’s.  Billions of dollars were spent on construction but the project was never completed.  Two cooling towers were partially constructed and much of the infrastructure for one of the reactors was completed.  The initial plan was to demolish everything but the Grays Harbor Public Development Authority took over administration of the facility and it is now a business park.  The scale of the place is very impressive and our tour guide, Stan was full of information about the facility as well as nuclear energy.  It was quite a fun and interesting trip.
